Role
You will be supporting the new business function of Clients First; helping us identify, nurture, and secure new clients. You will report to the Client Services Director and work with members of the team in delivering the sales target across a range of products and services delivered by the business. You will have experience of working within a sales team and have a track record of identifying and helping to secure new business in a B2B environment.
The role will be generally office-based and make extensive use of cloud-based software. There may be an occasional need to travel to clients alongside colleagues.
Responsibilities
The role currently stands alone in the organization – it will therefore need to make use of external resources and recruit and use internal staff members as appropriate. Access to these resources will need to be by negotiation and request and the successful individual will be expected to be politically sensitive around the handling of these negotiations. Funds and support will be available on an as-needed basis.
There is no direct budget management in this role, although there is an expectation of setting a budget that might be considered necessary to make this role successful. This will be by a conversation with the Managing Director.
Any technology, such as hardware and applications and communication systems will be provided as required.
Working conditions and commitment
The successful candidate will work in a modern, open-plan office alongside other team members – there is an expectation of building strong and beneficial relationships with colleagues. A lot of work will be computer-based, and all applications are cloud-based. There will be an expectation of the successful candidate being comfortable with using cloud-based applications. Given the nature of client contact and the probable need to travel on occasion, the successful applicant will be expected to be comfortable with using remote working applications on a seamless basis, with the office-based solutions across all media, including social media.
Given the nature of sales, there will be an expectation of work to completion on any given day, where the sales process demands it. This may mean late working on occasion. There is no expectation that completion will be in the office; home-working is fine by us. The successful candidate will be expected to balance their own workload, keeping the management team informed and up to date on the load they are carrying on a regular basis. It will be expected that they will be responsible for completing regular KPI’s that tell us how the sales administration role is progressing.
There will be a number of fixed delivery points each month, but in particular, updating and maintaining the prospect lists and sales reporting will be imperative. There will also be periodic project updates expected and with class A prospects there will be an expectation of prioritization so that the deals are driven through to completion along with the lead salesperson.
The successful individual will be the sort of person who can self-organize, multitask and understand the role to such a degree that they can prioritize activity to ensure that opportunity is not lost by inaction or inattention to due process.
